Our Guarantee of Quality
At Jersey City Painters, we know that painting is an investment in your property. We don't just want you to be happy on the day we finish; we want you to be happy long after the paint dries.
That is why we offer a 1-Year Limited Warranty on our workmanship.
What Is Covered
For a period of one (1) year from the date of completion, Jersey City Painters will repair any newly painted areas that fail due to improper workmanship. This warranty covers the following issues on surfaces we have prepared and painted:
Peeling: Paint coming off the wall or trim.
Blistering: Bubbles forming under the paint film.
Chipping: Paint flaking off due to improper adhesion.
If these defects occur within the warranty period, we will provide the labor and materials to correct the affected area at no cost to you.
What Is Not Covered (Exclusions)
While we strive for perfection, paint is a material that is subject to environmental factors and the condition of the underlying surface. The following are not covered under this warranty:
1. Structural & Surface Movement
In the historic brownstones and older homes of Jersey City and Hoboken, walls and ceilings naturally shift and settle. We cannot warrant against:
Cracks: Reappearance of cracks in plaster, drywall, or caulk caused by structural settling or movement.
Nail Pops: Drywall nails or screws popping out due to wood shrinkage.
2. Environmental Damage
We are not responsible for damage caused by forces outside our control, including:
Moisture: Damage caused by roof leaks, plumbing leaks, damp basements, or window condensation.
Mildew/Mold: Growth caused by high humidity or lack of ventilation.
Abuse: Scratches, chips, or abrasions caused by furniture, pets, children, or daily wear and tear.
3. Specific Surfaces
Certain surfaces experience extreme wear or conditions that paint cannot permanently withstand without regular maintenance:
Horizontal Surfaces: Decks, porch floors, and steps are prone to standing water and foot traffic; these are generally not warranted against peeling.
Galvanized Metal: Peeling on galvanized metal surfaces is often due to the chemical nature of the metal and is excluded unless a specific bonding system was quoted.
4. Varnished Surfaces & Bleeding
Bleeding: Stains (knots, rust, cedar bleed, or historic calcimine paint) that come through the paint, unless a specific stain-blocking primer service was included in the contract.
Non-Transferable
This warranty is valid only for the original customer named in the contract and is not transferable to a new owner if the property is sold.
